I've heard from a few folks that they'd subscribe to The Sunday Column blog, if that were possible.

Well, it is.

Look to the top of this page and click on "Subscribe," next to "Search."

You'll then see a box to enter your email address. Do that, and click on the "Get Email Notifications" line. An email will be sent to your address for verification purposes. Follow the directions.

And that's it.

No exchange of hard-earned money. No pledges of loyalty. No proof of citizenship. No need to recite a poem you learned in junior high. No passwords.

More importantly, I know you have more things to read and view than ever before. Lots of competition for your eyeballs. I appreciate that.

There will be opinion columns whenever the spirit moves me, and whenever I've found something that needs to be said about the events of the day.

I don't have a schedule for those kinds of pieces, and I don't want one.

I'll also pass along things I've seen or read that might have merit and relevance for your life, in the spirit of sharing good writing and good journalism.

And ... about that. Journalism. I might discuss that at times. I did that work from 1980-2014, enjoyed it immensely, and it probably goes without saying that I might have opinions about that.
