The 2025 FlanGigs, as of January 31

As a longtime guitar picker and part-time vocalist, I'm looking forward to expanding my performances this year.

Since I've been "back in the saddle," so to speak, for the past couple years, every show I've done has had redeeming qualities.

Even the lesser-attended shows give me a chance to work on material and build a relationship with people in the venue, whether they're sitting at the bar or chewing on food, parked at a park bench or listening from a lawn chair 30 yards away. Each gig has had something to enjoy or learn.

So, I'm hoping to play more this year, and build on those experiences even more. I've dialed in my sound gear, upgraded my guitar pickups, added a solid backup guitar, learned new material and have developed a pretty solid basis for my shows.

I'm happy with that, and hope I can be happier by year's end.

I publish this after the 2025 performance schedule started on Saturday, January 11, with a packed house at WINEaLOT WinePub in Greenleaf, one of my favorite venues.

Here's the current FlanGig schedule, as of January 31:

Saturday, February 8, 2-5 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin. This is a pre-Valentine's Day show, so you can expect more than a few love songs, some chocolate desserts and maybe some special wines.

Saturday, February 22, 5-9 p.m.: Big Easel Gallery and Bistro, Wabeno, Wisconsin. This is the first of three 2025 gigs at my favorite venue, roughly two years from my first show there. That's the gig that proved to myself that I still had some gas left in the tank as a guitarist, and things have progressed nicely since that very fun and almost magical night.

Saturday, March 1, 4:30-7:30 p.m.: Primal Eats, Gillett/Cecil. My first gig at Primal Eats since September, and I'm looking forward to coming back. There's something new — a building, a facility, a rearranged dining area, new and improved menu items, expansion, etc. — at Primal Eats every time I play there. The food is grand and different from almost any other place I've played.

Saturday, April 26, 2-5 p.m.: WINEaLOT Wine Pub, Greenleaf, Wisconsin. Come celebrate spring at a great venue, and enjoy an afternoon with friends, amazing libations and music you'll love!

Saturday, May 24, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Christy and Doug are opening the LakeHouse for the rest of 2025 in mid/late May, so this kicks off this year's "residency" at this cool place on the water's edge!

Wednesday, June 4, 5-7 p.m.: Wabeno Park Pavilion, Wabeno, Wisconsin. The first of two shows in the community's summer concert series. These gigs had been in the bandshell, right on State 32 in downtown Wabeno, until last summer's road construction made that unworkable. The shows were moved to the park pavilion, behind the bandshell and the logging museum, and as it turns out, it's a better setting with better seating and shade for performers and audience alike.

Saturday, June 7, 9-11:30 a.m.: Saturday Farmer's Market, Washington St./Doty St., Green Bay: Happy to accept the invitation to return after playing this great community event in 2024. Everybody was in a great mood, and a lot of them loved my material. Hope that happens again! Look for market details here!

Saturday, June 14, 2-5 p.m.: WINEaLOT Wine Pub, Greenleaf, Wisconsin. Back at one of my favorite venues for an early-summer (I know, it's not official) show. Beautiful setting, wonderful wines, memorable music!

Thursday, June 19, 6:30-8:15 p.m.: Veterans Memorial Square, Goodman, Wisconsin. My sister-in-law, Joan, has organized this "Music in the Square" summer concert series for several years now, and it's always a hoot. It's scheduled for a 7-8 p.m. gig, but I like to start early and end late at this one. Just because. If rain falls, we'll be in the town hall across the street.

Friday, June 20, 5:30-8:30 p.m.: Primal Eats, Cecil/Gillett, Wisconsin. (Rescheduled from June 27.) Playing in this venue's outdoors park-like area is just great. Such a cool, fun setting. Picnic tables, chairs, plenty of room. Nice stage. Easy access to their wonderful food. Hoping for a beautiful summer evening to allow for an outdoor show.

Saturday, June 21, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Come celebrate the official start of summer in the Northwoods! It'll be fun!

Thursday, June 26, 6-7:30 p.m., Music on the Porch, Crandon, Wisconsin: Smack-dab in the middle of one of my old hometowns is the Crandon Area Historical Society Museum at 103 W. Jackson Street. Long ago, it was the Lakeland Baptist Church, which I attended as a kid. My sister Jean was married to her hubby Bill there in 1961 (they're still married!). But now, it's home to the Crandon Area Historical Society Museum, and the Society and the Crandon Area Community Foundation are co-sponsoring the new "Music on the Porch" summer concert series, and I'm excited to be one of the first performers!

Saturday, July 12, 5-9 p.m.: Big Easel Gallery and Bistro, Wabeno. If all goes well, this will also be an outdoors show at the Big Easel. But my friends Tim and Connie, who own the venue, might have other thoughts. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to a summer show at the Easel; didn't have one there last year, and missed it. Call 715.889.1179 to reserve seats.

Saturday, July 19, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Spend a beautiful summer afternoon outside and hear some memorable tunes!

Saturday, July 26, Kentuck Day: Forest County Courthouse Square, Crandon, Wisconsin. We were out of state last year in late July, so I couldn't play this community celebration after playing there in 2023. This is my home turf — I grew up in Forest County, and have actual Kentucky roots — and it's always good to reconnect. (For a cool video about the event and the area's heritage, click here.)

Friday, August 1, 5:30-8:30 p.m.: Primal Eats, Cecil/Gillett, Wisconsin. Another beautiful night in this venue's park-like setting. Enjoy the food and drink, and stay for some great tunes!

Wednesday, August 6, 5-7 p.m.: Wabeno Park Pavilion. The second of two shows in Wabeno's summer concert series.

Saturday, August 9, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Taking a couple weeks off after this one, so join us for a fun afternoon at the LakeHouse to hear songs you'll know, and songs you'll love!

Saturday, September 13, noon-3 p.m.: FestiFall, Lakewood, Wisconsin. I've been invited back for this community festival along State 32 as it goes through this cool small town. I'll be one of the musicians adding some ambience and entertainment for the hundreds (or more) of locals and tourists who stroll the main drag. It's a cool event, and a good way to spend a fall Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, September 27, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Late summer/early autumn outdoor gigs are the best, and that's what we'll do on this Saturday! Join us at the LakeHouse!

Saturday, October 4, 5-9 p.m.: Big Easel Gallery and Bistro, Wabeno. This is the third of three Easel gigs on the 2025 calendar, and I always look forward to them. Call 715.889.1179 to reserve seats.

Saturday, October 25, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Weather permitting (and it did permit in October 2024), this could be the final outdoor gig of the fall. But even if we're inside, it'll be fun as always at the LakeHouse!

Saturday, November 22, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: On this special day, if your hubby is in the woods, hunting the elusive white-tailed deer, you should be with us at the LakeHouse for Deer Widow's Day! It was a blast in 2023, and should be another one this year!

Saturday, December 13, 3-6 p.m.: LakeHouse Winery, Townsend, Wisconsin: Let's celebrate Christy's birthday again in our final LakeHouse gig of 2025!

I'll update this schedule as more dates are booked. If you know of other venues that might be interested in what I do, feel free to send me a note at dan@danlflannery.com.

As always, I appreciate your support and hope to entertain you and your pals again this year!
